Of all the markets, trade shows, and conventions, New York Now has perhaps the largest variety of gifts, accessories, and house ware products. From bedazzled dog collars to stunning chandeliers, we covered it all and spotted some emerging trends.
There were some super stylish beds at the Javits Center–We’ve highlighted the best. Made Goods, an old favorite of ours, known for their accessories and accent pieces premiered some beautiful new bed frames at NY Now and they do not disappoint!
We also discovered a newbie, Pom Pom at Home whose designs are delicate and transitional. We had a chance to chat with the designer, who posed with her favorite new pieces for us! She described their designs as “lived in” and “Casual,” and that’s exactly it—We felt right at home, ready to curl up and take a nap!
A general market favorite was John Robshaw—Now if only we all had the Robshaw merchandisers to make our beds every morning!
A trend that stood out to us was all of the rustic, shabby-chic kitchenware. We couldn’t help but begin designing an imaginary country kitchen, pulling inspiration from Roost and Europe 2 You.
For a more polished, formal living room we drew inspiration from the eclectic designs of Zodax accessories and Bungalow 5 furniture.
The furniture designers of Worlds Away and Emporium Home sat down with us to discuss their favorite new pieces—Both of them chose chairs. From the designer to your home – the comfy and elegant accent chair is in (was it ever out?)!
When it came to finding our favorite lighting, the competition was fierce—a number of vendors premiered some beautiful new lighting collections but we were finally able to narrow our favorites:
Ro Sham Beaux’s incredible wall sconces and chandeliers made it hard to choose just one! Theses beaded beauties come in a variety of colors and sizes and Ro’ is super designer-friendly!
Dynamic designer Michael Aram’s new pendants make a huge statement! These lights belong in the foyer of every beautiful home. Aram is global, eclectic designer and it certainly shows!
It was Noir Furniture that was the celebrity fav at NY Now. HGTV Design Star winner, Danielle Colding stopped by and shared some of her Noir favorites with us-namely some of their gorgeous new seating and hand sculpture accessories.
And XOXO, Gossip Girl was in the house – Friends from Westbrock Home snapped this pap-style shot of Blake Lively shopping Noir–She loved the Rain Chandelier and the Berninni Desk!
NY Now was wildly successful and we cannot wait to be back in the big apple this MARCH for Design Camp at the Architectural Digest Home Show! You can register online now! Hurry Hurry before spots fill up. Until then, Peace out, New York!
